Braintrust has been chosen by the Scrum Alliance to be one of the first companies in the country to offer CSP-SM. This month, we sat down with Braintrust President Kate Megaw to discuss all things Certified Scrum Professional®-ScrumMaster (CSP®-SM) certification. Here are the highlights:
Q: Why was it important for Braintrust to be one of the first company’s in the country approved for Certified Scrum Professional®-ScrumMaster (CSP®-SM) certification training by the Scrum Alliance®?
A: We prioritized the development and approval of the CSP-SM certification simply because our Agile training students and coaching clients kept asking about it! It is truly the next step for a lot of our ScrumMasters on their journey. As an Agile Advisor, we ALWAYS listen to our customers and value their feedback. As trainers experiencing the approval process for this class, Anu Smalley and I reflected on how we are truly living the Scrum values and how to help students explore this self-reflection as they advance their ScrumMaster Skills.
Q: How would you sum up the CSP-SM certification and its learning objectives?
A: The class deep dives into team dynamics and building successful teams while expanding on how to support the Development Team, the Product Owner, and the overall organization. Throughout the course, attendees will be guided through an exploration into ways to support organizational change and approaches to scaling scrum across the organization.
Q: As a world-renown Scrum and Agile professional, why do you think more professionals should work towards this certification?
A: This certification sets people apart as truly understanding Agility and working as ScrumMasters to support teams, Product Owners, and Organizations. A person holding the Certified Scrum Professional®- ScrumMaster title has made a commitment to their learning and Scrum Journey. Whether the CSP-SM is wearing their facilitation, coaching, mentoring, or training hat, they are at the next level of their Scrum journey and supporting those around them.
Q: Why should professionals choose Braintrust as their training provider over others for CSP-SM certification? How would you describe the “Braintrust experience”?
